Q: What is the referral code?

The referral code is a 5-digit code that is provided by, and identfiies, your distribtuor or sponsor. It is either directly inserted in the URL linking your sponsor to the MVP Network website, emailed to you by your sponsor, or on a racing ticket provided to you by your sponsor. If you were redirected to this website by a sponsor's website, the referral code will be automatically provided; please do not change any number that you find in the referral code box.


Q: Why do I need to enter a username and password?

Your username and password are needed to log you in to Redline Thunder. The username is your racer name, it is your "handle" and will be used to tell other people online who you are.

IMPORTANT: Write down your username and password, and keep it where you won't lose it.


Q: How do I complete the installation?

Once you have chosen a username and password, hit "Continue to Next Step". Then hit "Click Here to Download". This will download an installer titled: "Install_RedlineThunder_ASCR.exe". Run this program to install the game. The installer will prompt you for a directory to install the game to. The default directory is "c:\Program Files\RedlineThunderASCR\".


Q: How do I run Redline Thunder once I have installed it?

You can run Redline Thunder:

1. Through the Start Menu: "Start->Programs->RedlineThunder->Redline Thunder ASCR".

2. By double-clicking the "Redline Thunder ASCR" shortcut on your desktop.


Q: I ran Redline Thunder and it told me that I could 'Activate' the game or run a limited 'Demo'. What is the difference?

Redline Thunder is a free download! You don't pay for anything when you download the game, but certain features will not be available until you 'Activate' Redline Thunder by purchasing an online account. You can run the Demo mode as much as you want before you Activate the game. In Demo mode, the following restrictions apply: you cannot drive in an online race, but you can watch any online race that is already in progress; only one track and one type of car are available for Practice races. When you Activate the game, you are unlocking three additional car types and two additional tracks for Practice mode; AND you will be given 200 entry credits for online races.


Q: How do I activate Redline Thunder?

When you run Redline Thunder before it has been activated, you will see a dialog box with two buttons: 'Activate' and 'Demo'. Press the 'Activate' button to begin the activation process. If you press 'Demo' instead, you can always activate the game later by pressing the 'Activate' button on the main menu.


Q: OK, I'm pressing the 'Activate' button. What will I need to complete the process?

You need the username and password that you chose when you downloaded the Redline Thunder installer. Once you enter your username and password you will be asked to register your full name, address, and email address, and then you will be taken to secure purchase form to complete the account activation. Then you will receive an email notification that your account has been activated, and you will be able to login to Redline Thunder with your username and password.

Q: Is Windows Vista supported?

MVP has tested the game on Windows Vista, and we are confident that the game will run on a properly configured Windows Vista installation provided that the other minimum requirements are met. However users of Windows Vista may have to update the drivers for their graphics and sound cards in order to run the game, because we have seen several instances where early Vista drivers were not compliant with industry standards. Also, we recommend that users of Windows Vista turn OFF multiple-monitor configuration, and use only a single monitor.

Q: Are there any known hardware problems?

Redline Thunder is designed to run on as many different computer configurations as possible. Online performance may vary depending on the speed of your network connection.

You MUST either DISABLE any firewalls or set proper permissions for Redline Thunder to be allowed through any firewalls in order to successfully play the game. This includes the Windows Firewall (if prompted, be sure to click allow).


Q: Any Performance Tips?

For optimal performance make sure to run Redline Thunder FULL SCREEN and not in windowed mode. If you must run the game in windowed mode, then to increase performance consider lowering the resolution of your desktop, or decreasing the detail settings in the game.

Additionally you may decrease the game's resolution or the number of driver AI, if you are racing against AI, for better performance.

Be sure to quit all other applications before running Redline Thunder.

Q: Do I need a steering wheel to play Redline Thunder?

You don't need a steering wheel to play Redline Thunder. You can drive the car using the keyboard, a gamepad, a joystick, or a steering wheel. See the "How to Play" page to find out more about configuring your controls.


Q: I purchased a Redline Thunder activation. Can I install Redline Thunder on multiple computers?

Yes, you can install Redline Thunder on up to three computers that YOU OWN. Just copy the installer to the other machines and log in using your username and password. Internet connection is required. NOTE: You cannot run online races on two computers with the same account at the same time. If you are already logged in to the server from one machine, you will not be able to log in to the server from another machine.


Q: I have two computers and one Redline Thunder account. My friend also has a Redline Thunder account, but we want to play against each other on my computers. Can he use his account on my computer?

Yes, if you've already installed Redline Thunder from your account on two computers, your friend can just log in to the game using HIS OWN username and password, and you can both play online at the same time.


Q: Suppose he doesn't have an account? Can we both play online on my two computers.

No, you will not both be able to race online unless you have two activated accounts. However your friend can watch online races from an unactivated installation of Redline Thunder.


Q: I've installed a new hard drive and I want to reinstall Redline Thunder. Will I be able to reactivate the game without paying again?

Yes, you can reactivate up to five times automatically. If you try to activate after a fifth attempt, you will be directed to contact our support staff through email, support@redlinethunder.com.


Q: Help! I'm having a problem with the game that is not covered here! What do I do!
